IOANAx Soultrain is a bold new project crafted especially for JAZZx by Subcarpați, reimagining Romanian folklore through the free, expressive lens of jazz. Following the success of SUBJazz (Subcarpați x JazzyBit), this unique collaboration brings tradition and modernity into vibrant harmony.
At the heart of the project is Ioana Milculescu’s powerful voice—raw, emotional, and full of soul—bridging generations and genres. Alongside Max K., Mușat, Marcelle Poaty-Souami, Lucian Nagy, Radu Pieloiu, Mircea Ardeleanu Jr., and other members of the Subcarpați collective, she breathes new life into folk melodies through daring reorchestrations and fresh arrangements.
