Hania Derej is a young composer, pianist, and conductor already making her mark on the contemporary jazz scene. At 20, with ten albums to her name, she brings together impressive technique and a strong instinct for melody, emotion, and experimentation.
With her Hania Derej Trio, she explores electronic jazz and neoclassical music, moving between intense, chaotic passages and hypnotic melodies built around repetition and ostinato. The project has already taken her to major festivals and showcases across Europe and beyond, including OFF Festival, Iceland Airwaves, ESNS, and SXSW, while earning a double Grand Prix at the Energa Ladies Jazz Festival Competition.
