BadBadNotGood, the young band from Toronto, brings a fresh and original sound to the jazz music scene by combining the genre with hip-hop vibes.
Matthew Tavares (keyboards), Chester Hansen (bass guitar) and Alexander Sowinski (drums) met and became friends in 2010, during college, and since then they performed on the stages of some great music festivals such as Coachella, Sing Jazz and Nujazz Festival. Since 2016, the band has had a new member, Leland Whitty (saxophone).
One of their first collaborations was the cover of Gucci Mane’s ”Lemonade”. The song caught the attention of Tyler, The Creator, who helped the video go viral. The band sang along and reinterpreted songs of artists such as Earl Sweatshirt, Danny Brown, Frank Ocean, Ghostface Killah, Kanye West, My Bloody Valentine, James Blake and Feist.
