He lived in Europe until 1990, mostly in Paris and Vienna, where he believes he has found home. Thanks to his affinity for Indian and Nordic music, he was a guest artist on the Norwegian jazz artist Bugge Wesseltoft’s album, „FiLM iNG”. One of the artists with whom he has collaborated is Mino Cinelu (percussion), who attended last year’s edition of JAZZ™ Festival.
Dhafer Youssef created world music, for which he was nominated twice, in 2003 and 2006, for the BBC Awards. In 2002 he released the „Electric Sufi”, the album where he added electronic and funky elements to his classical sound. Besides this one, he has released five solo albums, preparing the sixth one for this fall.
