The daughter of DeeDee Bridgewater, the artist who was on the JazzTM Festival stage in the Victory Square last year, and director Gilbert Moses, pioneer of African-American theater, had stepped in the world of music and theater ever since her childhood. Therefore, at 16 years old, in 1996, she released her first single, “Time”, the music video for it directed by Jean-Baptiste Mondino.
Its success was followed by three albums, China”, „On Tourne en Rond”and „Good Lovin”, which transformed her into a genuine force on the R’n’b stage in France. The artist has worked with the Swedish hip-hop label Breaking Bread and with artists such as DJ Mehdi, Diam’s, Karriem Riggins, Guru, Anthony Marshall.
Together with Raphaël Lemonnier, Camilla’s backing singer, China Moses has created a show called “Gardenias For Dinah”, a tribute to their idol, Dinah Washington. She was also the muse for the album “This one’s for Dinah”, released in 2009, under the label Blue Note.
After the world tour that brought her on the stages of Europe, India, Lebanon, Canada and Japan, the artist, together with Lemonnier, has worked on their next album, “Crazy Blues”, dedicated to the great blues and jazz female singers who have influenced and inspired Moses. She was also a producer for this album.
Alongside the contribution to André Manoukian’s album, “So in love”, Moses has created a new show in the fall iof 2013, with love songs such as „Don’t let me be misunderstood”, „Lullaby of Birdland” or ”I’ve got you under my skin”.
She has joined her mother on stage on many occasions, accompanied by orchestras such as Deutsch Filmorchester Babelsbers and WDR Big Band.
