Aron, who was born in New Zealand, had established himself as one of the Antipodes finest jazz pianists by the time he was sixteen. He now resides in Europe performing both in his own right and in big name collaborations and keeps up a hectic global touring schedule.
His technically brilliant yet imaginative approach has drawn attention beyond jazz, catapulting him into the pop, dance, world and rock spheres. His most recent success is performing and collaborating with Stromae, notably Papaoutai reaching 200,000,000 views on youtube. He also has been on world tour with Woodkid, Golden Age.
Together with Rodi Kirk on electronics and Samuel Dubois on percussion, Ottignon delivers one of the most original tunes we’ve heard in a while, “Waterfalls,” by mixing various elements of jazz and electronic music.
