A music festival creates a symbol for the city that organizes it, becomes part of its identity and strengthens it. JAZZx comes precisely to celebrate Timisoara’s multiculturalism and vibrant energy, rehabilitating the value of accessible cultural actions, focusing on quality and the importance of culture in a healthy community.
“Through JAZZx, Timisoara continues to be, in 2024, a vibrant and harmonious cultural capital in which jazz, a diverse and multicultural musical genre, becomes a catalyst for tolerance and free access to the cultural act of excellence. JAZZx, the flagship festival of the European Capital of Culture, is not only a musical event, but also a significant gesture that strengthens the cultural identity of the city, marking Timișoara a symbol of multiculturalism in Romania and Europe and a centre of vibrant cultural energy.” – Alin Nica, President of Timis County Council
JAZZx is funded by Timis County Council. Organised by the National Museum of Banat, produced and developed by the PLAI Cultural Centre. The event will take place from 5 to 7 July 2024 and will be joined by partners who have supported the project throughout its development stages: UniCredit Bank, Profi, Regina Maria and Mercedes-Benz.
